William Clifford "Bill" Whalen Jr., age 50 of Afton, passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Bill was born February 12, 1966, in Baltimore, MD, raised in Cottage Grove, MN and spent his final 15 years in Afton, MN. Deepest gratitude to his family and many friends, Fairview Hospice and all who made it possible for Bill to pass away in the home he loved surrounded by those who loved him on August 7, 2016, after battling cancer for nearly 3 years. Bill was an intelligent, creative man with great vision who appreciated nature and a good craft beer; a wonderful father, compassionate friend, a supporter of his community and lover of life. A beautiful soul who will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
Survived by his wife of 21 years, Sandi, children Alex and Adele, mother, Argene and sisters, Mary-Jeanine and Deanne. Preceded in death by father, William Sr.
A celebration of Bill's life will be held on August 21, 2016 at 1:00 pm at The Mississippi Dunes, Cottage Grove, MN. Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers.
