William Forrest Smith was born July 7, 1946 in Rolette, North Dakota. He was raised on the family farm in Rolette and graduated from Rolette High School in 1964. He served in the United States Army. Bill enjoyed family time, hunting, camping and motorcycles. On August 4, 2012 he was united in marriage with Betty Joyce.
He is survived by his wife Betty, children Bill Jr. (Tracey), Sharie Germain, Michele (Pat) Howell, Blair, Kristie (Troy) Anderson, Emily Joyce; 8 grandchildren Angell, Devin, Savannah, Cari, Jackson, Jesse, Chandler, Jozie; and Snowball. Memorial Gathering 4-8 PM Sunday at KOK FUNERAL HOME, 7676 80TH St. S. Cottage Grove (651-459-2875). Private inurnment Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
