William Fraser

February 8, 1946 — February 7, 2015

William Michael Fraser, age 68 of Woodbury, Minnesota passed away at The Waters of Oakdale on February 7, 2015 following a long battle with Lewy Body Dementia.

William was born February 8, 1946 in Fairmont, Minnesota to Bernard and Anna Marie (Shea) Fraser. He graduated from Fairmont High School in 1964 and was proud to have pitched in the state baseball tournament during his junior and senior year. He went on to receive his bachelor's degree from St. Mary's University in 1968 prior to entering active duty in the United States Army. Bill was stationed in Vietnam and was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart as a result of his courage and bravery. After his military service, he returned to pursue a career as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). On May 5, 1979, Bill was united in marriage to Terry Radtke and they made their home in Minneapolis. In the early 1980's, Bill and Terry started Fraser and Fraser, a CPA firm in Bloomington. Bill was an avid sports fan and enjoyed coaching his sons' baseball and basketball teams during their younger years. He also loyally supported and cheered for the Twins and Gophers. Bill and Terry relocated to Alexandria, Virginia in 2006 before returning to Minnesota in 2013 to be closer to family. Bill enjoyed traveling with his family. Bill loved his family and was especially proud of his sons.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Anna Marie and sister, Mildred Fraser. He is survived by his wife, Terry; sons, Andrew (Joy) and Patrick (Stephanie Gaston); grandchildren, Max and Caswell; sisters, Coleen (Michael) Gillen, Dorothy (Robert) Allen, Gloria (Bruce) Soma, Barb (Steven) Sandberg, Teresa (Daniel) Romain, 21 nieces and nephews, 30 great-nieces and nephews, and a great, great-niece.

Memorial service will be 10:30 am Thursday, February 12, 2015 at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 7000 Hinton Avenue S, Cottage Grove with visitation one hour prior. Interment will be held at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association.
