Wilbur Hartley

June 24, 1918 — May 18, 2008

age 89, of Maplewood died Sunday morning May 18, 2008 in his home.



Wilbur Lee Hartley was born June 24, 1918 in Dayton, Ohio the son of Hobart & Elizabeth Hartley. He graduated from high school in 1936 in Versailles, Kentucky before attending the University of Maryland. Wilbur served in the United States Air Force from 1941-1962. On October 1, 1947 he was united in marriage with Alice Taylor at the Bolling Field Chapel. He retired as a Master Sergeant from the United State Air Force in 1962 and Republic Airlines in 1981.



He was preceded in death by his wife Alice; brother K. Dwight.



Wilbur is the beloved father of Karen (Richard) Folden, Sharon (James) Longstreet; step-grandfather of Gretchen, Brenda, Thomas, Jeremy, Daniel; step-great-grandfather of Jennifer, Amy, Heidi, Kaitlyn, Elliott; brother of E. Louise Jarvis.



Memorial Service 4 PM Wednesday May 21, 2008 at TRINITY BAPTIST CHURCH, 2220 Edgerton, St. Paul. Interment with military honors at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery. Visitation 4-8 PM Tuesday at KOK FUNERAL HOME, 1201 Portland Ave. St. Paul Park (651-459-2875).
