Walter Pike

January 12, 1918 — April 27, 2008

age 90, of Oakdale, went to be home with the Lord peacefully Sunday morning, April 27, 2008.



Walter Wallace Pike was born January 12, 1918 in St. Louis Park. He lived in Langdon, Minnesota until age eight when his family moved to Newport. He graduated from Park High School in 1936. In 1947 he moved to St. Paul. He returned to live in Washington County in 1960 when he moved to Cottage Grove. In 1993 Walter and Lucille moved to Oakdale. He served in the United States Air Force during WWII. Bud was retired from 3M after 30 years. He was an avid stamp collector.



Walter was preceded in death by parents, Will & Grace Pike; sisters Laura Belle Cowell, Rose Marie Orth.



He was the beloved husband of Lucille; loving brother of Lois of New York, Lyla of South St. Paul, Blanche of Rocklin, CA, Mary Lou of Apache Junction, AZ; devoted dad of William (Sharon) of East Bethel, Joyce (Tom) Costa of Ft. Myers, FL, James (Dianne) of Vadnais Heights, Janice ?BB? (Russ) Boyer of Sun City, NV, Jean Wood of Oakdale, John (Peggy) of St. Paul; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild.



Funeral Service 11 AM Thursday at First Calvary Baptist Church, 5495 S. Robert Tr., Inver Grove Heights. Interment Newport Cemetery. Visitation 4-8 PM Wednesday at KOK FUNERAL HOME, 1201 Portland Ave. St. Paul Park (651-459-2875). And 10-11 AM Thurs. at church
