Wallace Fred Miller

Age 84, of Woodbury

Passed away peacefully in his home to be with his Lord Jesus Christ on Nov. 23, 2013.

Known to his friends as Wally, he was born April 17, 1929 to parents, Fred and Cora Miller of Old Cottage Grove, MN. His great passions in life were his fervent love of God, country music, ballroom dancing, and playing in cribbage tournaments. Wally had a 37 year career with Schmidt's Brewery in St. Paul where he retired in 1990. Wally exemplified integrity, character and compassion, and his great sense of humor was apparent to everyone who came to know him and called him their friend. His love and tenderness he felt for his wife, daughters and countless friends were unmatched.

Survived by his wife of 59 years, DeLois (Dee); his daughters, Brenda and Renee (Michael) Sorenson; and his three grandchildren, Krystal, David, and Jacqueline. Preceded in death by his parents; brother, Stanley; sister, Lucille Zimmerman, and brother-in-law, Connie Zimmerman.

Visitation will be held 5-8 PM, Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013 at Kok Funeral Home, 7676 80th St. S., Cottage Grove and continues one hour prior to the service. Celebration of Wally's life 11 AM, Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013 at Cottage Grove United Church of Christ, 7008 Lamar Ave. S., Cottage Grove.

Interment to follow at Cottage Grove Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the family.
