Virgil Catherine Donnelly, 76, of Cottage Grove, died Wednesday,
January 2, 2008 at her home following a lengthy illness.
Virgil Catherine Donnelly was born August 2, 1931 in Maiden Rock, Wisconsin, the daughter of William and Florence (Johnson) Brenner. She was raised in the area and graduated from Maiden Rock High School. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Donnelly and the couple made their home in various locations while Ken served in the United States Navy and Virgil raised the children. The couple moved to Cottage Grove in 1972. She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, she especially enjoyed her family and entertaining at their times together. She also enjoyed working on crafts, puzzles and most notably the word finds.
She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Ken, three daughters; Kathleen (Thomas) Ellingboe of Cottage Grove, Nancy Greske of Ellsworth, Wisconsin, Sandra (David) Grochow of Waconia, her brothers; Edward (Loretta) Brenner of Maiden Rock, Wisconsin, James (Mary Ann) Brenner of Bay City, her sister, Shirley (Leo) Bishop of Prescott, and her sister-in-law, Dianne Brenner of Maiden Rock, Wisconsin, 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceeded in death by her brother, LeRoy Brenner and her great-granddaughter, Emma Day.
