Violet E. Lowrie, age 96 of St. Paul Park, passed away April 17, 2020 in Cottage Grove.
Violet was born September 26, 1923 in Chatfield, Minnesota to Harold and Julia Eickhoff. She was one of six children who attended the local country school. Violet was united in marriage to Howard Lowrie in 1940 and they couple moved to the St. Paul Park area. She worked at Gamer’s Restaurant in Newport for a few years as a cook. Violet was the heart and soul of the home and enjoyed being the “stay at home mom” with her six children. In those early years, she enjoyed playing cards, bowling, fishing and boating.
Violet is survived by her daughters Barbara Opatz, Sandy Kadelec, Vicky (Frankie) Hinojos and Connie (Jay) O’Neill; sons David and Jimmy; three grandchildren Alana Nelson, Donna Halasz and Kenny White and 10 grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Howard and her parents.
Private services will be planned.
