Valerie Marie was born February 13, 1921 in Saint Paul the daughter of Alphonse & Emma (Valois) Morin. She was raised in Saint Paul and received her nursing degree from St. Joseph's Hospital through St. Catherine's. On November 21, 1942 she married James Clarence Kuhns at St. Louis King of France Catholic Church in Saint Paul. She worked as a school nurse in the Saint Paul School District and retired from Harding High School. Church was an important part of Valerie's life. James was a deacon and she actively assisted him. She enjoyed gardening flowers and vegetables; sewing and crafts. She was a member of Garden Clubs and Square Dancing Clubs here in Minnesota and in Florida.
Preceded in death by husband James.
Survived by children James (Elizabeth) of Cottage Grove, John (Linnea) of Chicago, David (Judy) of Circle Pines, Gregory (JoAnn) of Shoreview, Carol (Darlene) of Bedford, New Hampshire, Margaret (John) Ghostley of New Brighton, Christopher (Debra) of Hastings, Thomas (Amy) of Cottage Grove; 17 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister Bernadette (Bud) Cates of West Saint Paul; brother Robert (Rosemary) Morin of West Saint Paul; many nieces and nephews.
