Toni Whiteside Malveaux Helgeson

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Toni Whiteside Malveaux Helgeson, who died peacefully on February 11, 2025, at the age of 68. Toni was born on December 23, 1956, in Saint Paul, Minnesota, to Robert and Shirley Whiteside. She worked for many years at the Twin Cities Ford Assembly Plant, where her dedication and kind spirit made a lasting impression on her coworkers. With her love of art—especially drawing—and her caring nature, she touched the lives of everyone around her.

Above all else, Toni was the most loving and caring mother a child could have. She did an amazing job raising her sons, and being a mother was her greatest honor and achievement.

Toni is survived by her ex-husband, Clarence Malveaux, and her devoted children : Andrew Helgeson, Cory Malveaux (Shawna Malveaux – daughter in- law), and Nicholas Helgeson. Her grandchildren: Tyler Toutant, Sebastian Helgeson, Tiyah Malveaux-Phillips, Adrianah Malveaux, Jairus Malveaux, Lyndi Helgeson, and Macey Helgeson. She also leaves behind her sister, Stevie Whiteside, — they will forever cherish her love and sweet demeanor.

Toni was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Whiteside and Shirley Haarala (Whiteside, Cortez); three sisters, Linda, Kathleen, and Roxanne; and her son, John Malveaux.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Light The Way Church, located at 7000 Jamaica Avenue S, Cottage Grove, MN 55016. Toni will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to share in her life.
