Thomas “Tom” Richard Henschell was born February 19, 1960 in St. Paul, Minnesota to James and Irene (Howard) Henschell.  He graduated from Harding High School in 1978 and entered active duty in the US Army and was stationed in Germany.  Tom served as a security guard at Knox Lumber for a short time, and while there he met the love of his life, Shelli Glass.  They were married on April 16, 1988 in St. Paul Park and they made their home in Cottage Grove.  One of his greatest pleasures in life was spending time with “his girls”, Brittany and Kaila.  Tom always connected himself with the construction industry whether it was actively building homes or managing the Ace Hardware store.  When it came to facing his own health challenges, he faced them courageously.  Tom had a great sense of humor and enjoyed “teasing” those that he loved.  He had a big heart and loved making an impression on people.  Tom loved his family and will be dearly missed.

Tom is preceded in death by his parents James and Irene and infant sister Tammy.  He is survived by his wife Michele “Shelli”; daughters Brittany (Bobby) Mausolf, Kaila (Joe Moore) Henschell; siblings Linda (Joe) Marihart, Mark (Lori) Henschell and Jim Henschell; father and mother-in-law Gary and Claudia Glass; brother and sister-in-law Dennis and Angel Glass as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
