Thomas "Tom" Budziszewski, age 94 of Cottage Grove, MN passed away peacefully on April 8, 2024.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM on Friday, April 19, 2024 at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 920 Holley Ave.; St. Paul Park, MN with visitation from 9 - 10:30 AM prior to the service and luncheon to follow. Interment will be at Assumption Catholic Church Cemetery in Florian, MN.
Tom was born December 21, 1929 in Wright Township, Marshall County, MN where he was raised and worked on the family farm. He trained with the 82nd Airborne at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, during the Korean War era. He also attended Our Lady of the Ozarks in Carthage Missouri, along with his twin brother John. Tom had a long illustrious career serving his community as a postal carrier. With his sister Ludwina, he traveled the U.S. and to international destinations significant to his Catholic faith - the Holy Land, Rome, and Lourdes. He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church in St. Paul Park, MN volunteering much of his time to many parish events. Tom also enjoyed gardening in his spare time especially keeping up his meticulous lawn. He was always very grateful for Lu's excellent cooking. He will be dearly missed by family and friends.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Anton Budziszewski and Mary Gratzek; sister, Ursula, Ludwina; brothers and their spouses, Gerard (Florence, Phyllis), Steve (Laverle), Wendell (Muriel), and John; nephew and his spouse, Joe (Caroline) Budziszewski; and niece, Rosemary Budziszewski.
He is survived by the family of his nephew Joe and his wife Caroline; nieces, Maribeth (Bernard) Gonshorowski, Becky (Mark) Weber, Anne (Tim) Peiffer, Mary (Brian) Meyer, Corinne (Jim) Harris, Carla (Geoff) Peterson; nephews, Tim (Catherine), Tom (Beth), Mike (Susan), John (Heidi), Paul (Bekah), Brian (Laura), Anthony, and all of their families.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to The Little Sisters of the Poor.
