Steven Krech

Steven Krech, age 66 of Cottage Grove, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2017.

A memorial service will be 11:00 am, Saturday, October 21. 2017 at Kok Funeral Home, 1201 Portland Ave., St. Paul Park with visitation one our prior.  Interment Newport Cemetery.

Steven Raymond Krech was born September 6, 1951 in West St. Paul, Minnesota to Elmer and June (Baier) Krech.  He grew up in St. Paul Park and graduated from Park High School in 1969.  Steve entered active duty in the US Army and was stationed in Vietnam during his service.  He returned to Minnesota and took a position at North Star Steel, where he worked in a variety of positions for 31 years until he retired.  Steve felt it was his mission in life to help others in any way that he could and to put his family first.  Over the past several years he cherished his time with his granddaughter Autumn, whether it was at her sporting events or going to see a ballgame at Lamar Field as well as spending time with his loved ones.

He is preceded in death by his parents Elmer and June; brothers, Ron, Roger, Jerry and Elmer; sister Jan and sister-in-law Sue.  Steven is survived by his children April (Jason) Degler and Steve (Tracy) Krech; grandchildren, Dylan, Heather and Autumn; siblings Helen, Tom, Star, Laura (John), Harold, Rebecca, John, James (Kim) and Roberta; sisters-in-law Karen, Marie and Laura as well as numerous nephews and nieces.
