Steven Cozad

Steven D. Cozad, age 48 of Cottage Grove, passed away unexpectedly on June 20, 2018.

Memorial service will be 5 pm, Sunday, June 24, 2018, at Discovery Community Church, 828 Portland Avenue, St. Paul Park, MN with visitation one hour prior.

Steve was born March 31, 1970 in Chicago, Illinois to Duane and Lorinda (Bauman) Cozad, the youngest of 3 children.  The family moved to Cottage Grove when he was 10.  He loved to play football and graduated from Park High School in 1988.  Steve took his EMT training and also began as a proud member of the Newport Fire Department.  He met the love of his life, Lynn and they were married April 27, 1996.  They made their home in Cottage Grove where he worked at the post office for over 22 years and enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren grow up.  Following the return from one of the mission trips that he took, Steve followed a call to pursue a certification in ministry and served as a pastor for several years.  He was a sports enthusiast and loved to go to Minnesota Wild and Vikings games.  Steve was loved dearly by his family and all of the many lives that he touched.

He is survived by wife Lynn; children Misty Bray and Robert (Angela) Bray; grandchildren Rachel and Declan; siblings Susan (Jeff) Welch and their son Duane, Sheri Cozad.  Preceded by parents, Duane and Lorinda.
