Stan Lee Flum, age 60, passed away unexpectedly on December 8th, 2018.
Memorial Gathering will be 4-8 pm Friday, December 14, 2018 at Kok Funeral Home, 7676 – 80th Street, Cottage Grove, with a time of Memory Sharing at 7:00 pm.
Stan was born January 16, 1958 in San Diego, California and after moving to Minnesota at a young age, he graduated from Park High School, Cottage Grove in 1976. Stan married the love of his life, Laurie Bickner on February 11, 1984 in St. Paul and they made their home in Cottage Grove where they raised their 3 wonderful children. He retired after working 31 years at Ford Motor Company. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, bowler and most of all chef; all of which he passed down to his children. He always loved cooking for everyone and trying new recipes and ideas. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. His family always brought him so much joy and happiness. He loved listening to music (rock and roll) while shooting pool, and of course, in a cool air-conditioned environment. Stan had an infectious sense of humor that everyone enjoyed so much. He loved having everyone’s attention and never had to try very hard to get it. His loud boisterous voice was easy to pick out of a crowd and made him an amazing storyteller.
Stan is survived by wife of 34 years Laurie; children Matthew (Liz), Neil (Mandy), Cindy (Nick) Geraghty; grandsons Jack and Harry; siblings Kim Flum, Steve (Terri) Flum and Colleen (Brad) Roettger as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by parents Lloyd and Patricia and grandparents Ed and Agnes O’Connor.
