Shirley Shannon

August 27, 1933 — July 24, 2017

Shirley A. Shannon (Miller, Andorff), 83 of Cottage Grove, passed away unexpectedly on July 24, 2017. Shirley was born August 27, 1933 in St. Paul to Lawrence & Rebecca (Reed) Miller and grew up on the East side of St. Paul. She graduated from North St. Paul High School in 1951 and moved to Hopkins with two of her best friends to work for Massey Harris. She had numerous book keeping jobs throughout her career and retired from the City of Mendota Heights after 20 years of service. Shirley was an avid reader and told everyone she "retired to read", you could always find her with a book in her hand. She also enjoyed knitting and sewing. Shirley had a deep love for her children and grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew her. Shirley is survived by her children, Kevin Andorff, Doreena (Eldon) Loescher; grandchildren, Nathan and Jason Andorff, Rebecca Nelson; great grandchildren, Haylee, Nolan, Isabelle, Abel; step children, Peggy (Terry), Timmy, Terry (Brian), Tommy (Cheri), Bobby (Karen); numerous Shannon grandchildren; siblings, Bob (Lois), Don, Muriel Richardson; sisters-in-law Jeanne Miller and Jean Miller; many nieces, nephews and friends. Preceded in death by husband, Neil; baby girl Rebecca Lynn; brother, Lloyd; nephew, Keith. Funeral service will be at 12:30 Saturday, July 29 at Kok Funeral Home (7676 80th St. S.) with visitation starting at 11 am. Interment Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Mahtomedi, MN. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred.
