Age 86, longtime resident of St. Paul Park passed away peacefully on July 29, 2006. Shirley was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church for nearly 50 years serving as the parish secretary from 1974 until 1985. Shirley was also very active in the American Legion Auxiliary serving as Past President of both the Lester Tjernlund and Fourth District Auxiliaries. Shirley was preceded in death by husbands Wallace Greely and Earl Carter; and brother, Stanley. Shirley is survived by children Joan (Frank) Deshler, Denice (Greg) Carter-Christianson; and Kevin Carter; grandchildren Frank W. and Lisa (Chad); great-grandchildren Grace and Sophia. The family wishes to extend a special Thank you to the nurses and staff of the Marian Care Center in St. Paul.
