Sheila Breisler

Sheila J. Breisler, age 62 of Cottage Grove, passed away May 14, 2017 at the Woodbury Care Center in Woodbury.

Funeral service will be 11:00 am, Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Kok Funeral Home, 7676 -80th Street S., Cottage Grove. Visitation will be 4-8 pm on Friday, May 26, 2017 at the funeral home and also one hour prior on Saturday. Interment Lebanon Cemetery, Apple Valley, Minnesota

Sheila Joan Breisler was born October 14, 1954 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Donald Sr. and Olive (Pickering) Larson. She grew up in St. Paul and graduated from Central High School in 1972. She met Dennis Breisler at a rollerskating rink in 1970 and they were later married on November 11, 1972 in St. Paul. They lived in a variety of places before settling in Cottage Grove in 1979. Sheila loved children so she started a daycare service out of her home, which she proudly operated until 2010. Every child was special to her and treated each one with love. Sheila went the extra mile and loved providing a fun and loving environment for the kids.

Shiela enjoyed baking cakes and learned how to personalize them by adding detail to the decoration. She also enjoyed walking, bowling, gardening and ceramics. Over the years, Sheila and Dennis took many day trips to parts of Minnesota and Wisconsin on the motorcycle. She was active in a variety of ways to create awareness for Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and Breast Cancer.

Sheila is survived by her husband of 44 years, Dennis; son Brad; grandchildren Matthew, Alexis and Nathan; daughters-in-law Christina and Heather (Mike); brothers Doug Larson, Ronald (Judy) Larson; sister Cynthia (Lee) Ehrhardt; sister-in-law Sue Larson and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her son Todd David; parents and brother Donald Jr.
