Sharon Marie Jasper nee Packard, of Grey Cloud Island, went peacefully to rest with God on June 20, 2018 at the age of 78. She was surrounded by her loving family in prayer. Sharon is most often remembered for her committed service to others which flourished from her faithful devotion to daily prayer and reading. She dedicated her life in a particular way to her six children and their spouses, and her grandchildren for whom she set aside every Thursday for a “grandma day.” As her grandchildren got older, Sharon faithfully attended many of their events and enthusiastically supported them in their various endeavors. One of Sharon and Dave’s favorite activities was taking a grandchild on a trip of their choice when they turned ten and visiting them when they were studying abroad.
Sharon gave of herself deeply and generously over decades to numerous parishes, local communities, and service organizations, caring well for the very young, the very old, and the very poor. Sharon was a founding and active member of Pax Christi Catholic Church in Eden Prairie and more recently an active member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Parish in St. Paul Park. Sharon led and participated in bible studies and retreats, and regularly brought the Eucharist to and held prayer services in multiple nursing homes. Her outreach included Friends in Need Food Shelf, Dorothy Day, Jesuit Volunteer Corps, and various nursing homes and daycares.
Sharon had a great love of cooking, gardening and above all, her many relationships. Sharon is survived by her husband of 57 years David and their children, Paul (Vicki) Jasper, Teresa (Gordy) DeMarais, Chris (Andrea) Jasper, Dan (Jill) Jasper, Becky (Scott Seibert) Jasper, and Rachel (Dan) Brewer; fourteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren; her three brothers, Bob, Jim, and Tom and their families. Sharon leaves behind a large extended family and many friends impacted by her loving care.
