Sharon Erickson

Sharon Marie Erickson, age 71, of Cottage Grove passed away on November 11, 2016 at her home surrounded by her beloved children.

Funeral service will be 2 pm on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at Lighthouse Baptist Church, 9979 80th Street, Cottage Grove, MN with visitation one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be in the Newport Cemetery.

Sharon Marie (Schottmuller) Erickson was born April 12, 1945 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Milton "Mutt" and Marjorie (Ravey) Schottmuller. She grew up in Newport and graduated from Park High School in 1963. Sharon started her career in the healthcare field as a nurses aid and housekeeper at Southview Acres where she worked for nearly 40 years. She enjoyed serving others and developed great relationships with her co-workers through the years.

Sharon enjoyed bowling, being involved at church, spending time with her bible study gals and coffee group. She loved decorating for Christmas, going to the lake and family reunion picnics.

She was preceded in death by her husband Donald Erickson, brothers Lee and Bruce Schottmuller, grandson Curtis Flom. Sharon is survived by her children Tracey (Bob) Flom of Nerstrand MN, Terry (MaryKay) Erdman, Todd Erdman, Tim (Janelle) Erickson; 9 grandchildren, Ty (Michelle) Flom, Bryan Flom, BriAnne Flom, Adam (Nicole) Flom, Marissa Erdman, T.J., Josh, Jake and Lucas Erickson. 3 great-grandchildren, Lillian, Nathan and Charlotte Flom; Sister Barb (Jim) Berquam of Kenyon MN, brothers Bob (Birdie) Shottmuller of Little Chute WI, Steve (Pauline) Schottmuller of Newport MN and Jeff (Brenda) Schottmuller of Newport MN.
