Sandra Jean Sagdalen (nee Kath)

December 27, 1946 — September 10, 2024

Sandy “Nonnie” had a BIG heart. She was a devoted wife and a dedicated mother & grandmother. As the eldest of seven sisters, a mother of three and a grandmother of seven, she had many opportunities to give unending love and scatter joy. It did not stop there. Sandy had a keen sense of knowing who needed love and was committed to being “Nonnie” to anyone who needed a grandma. Fifty years ago Sandy took in a child from a local program called Kinship Through Neighbors. To this day Barbie, whom Sandy calls her daughter, is grateful for Sandy’s love and commitment saying, “She is my good Mom and the only grandmother my children ever had”. Sandy was playful, goofy, serious and sometimes commanding; a force to be reckoned with. As her sons say, “My mom is an acquired taste. Once you get used to it you want to come back for more. She was funny, cool and selfless”. In addition to her loving heart Sandy was an accomplished amateur artist, an animal lover and had a successful career in the dental field. We will all miss her lively spirit and playful personality.

Sandy was preceded in death by her husband Gibby, parents Ed & Fran Kath, sister Cynthia and brother-in-law Dean. She is survived by her children Todd, Brian & Barbie, grandchildren Brandon, Nicholas, Madison, Gage, Bailey, Morgan & Sydney and beloved sisters Kathleen, Pam, Jeannine, Kelly, Lorena and their spouses.
