Sandra Lou Bernier-Eberspacher (Mallinger), age 79, of Cottage Grove, MN, passed peacefully on January 3, 2025, surrounded by her beloved family. Sandy was born April 26, 1945, to Gordon and Ruth Mallinger. She was raised in South St. Paul, MN, and graduated from South St. Paul High School, class of 1964. From there, she moved to Cottage Grove, where she raised her five beautiful children.
Sandy was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. She would give anything to provide her family with happiness and well-being. Her children and grandchildren filled her with so much joy and love. If you needed her, she was there.
She loved her flower gardens and the Hallmark channel. She was the stain queen. If you had a stain in your clothes, she would get it out. She was a union steward for UFCW 1189 and was "famous" at Cub Foods. She enjoyed working there so much that she didn't retire until January 12, 2019. She was a charismatic employee who was loved by her co-workers and customers. A family joke was, you didn't go to Cub with mom. If you did, you'd be there for hours.
Survived by her devoted husband of 41 years, Thomas Eberspacher; children, Thomas Bernier, Robert Bernier, Scott Eberspacher, Katie (Bill) Boldenow, and Angela (Ryan) Mroszak; grandchildren, Matthew, Natalia, Mitchell, Mackenzie, Averie, Alec, and Nico; sisters, Susan Ablan, Shirley Ferguson, and Joyce Johnson. She is preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Ruth Mallinger. She is so loved and will be missed by so many.
A special thank you to the team at Woodwinds Hospital for their continuous empathy, compassion, and support.
