Sally A. Knick
Age 82, Longtime Westsider
Preceded in death by loving husband, Gary; and sister, Rose Garcia. Survived by children, Char, Chris (Angel), and Carrie; grandsons, Gary (Mimi) and Tristan; chosen family, Red and Betty Olesen, Mark and Terri Bougie, Sandy Pignato; and many other wonderful family and friends.
She had so many titles; Wife, Ma, Grandma, Sister, Sal, Red, Miss Sally, Sassy Sally, Auntie, Friend, and Stubborn German. Ma enjoyed special time with Dad going on long drives (detours to casinos), fishing, traveling adventures, and throwing big 4th of July parties. She loved spending time with her family and friends. One of her biggest joys was cheering on her grandsons' sporting events. She loved going to the lake, music/dancing, theater/movies, member of the Red Hat Ladies, Pharaoh Car Events (with Rose and Joe), crafting, and long walks. Ma never missed an opportunity to let you know how much she loved everything Elvis. It was a joy seeing her act like a little girl when she would get so excited about something.
She volunteered for many years at the St Paul Red Cross (working with special friend Pansy). She was a strong woman and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. When you see an Eagle or Butterfly, take a moment to think of her if you were lucky enough to be a part of her life. Beloved by so many, she has now reunited with Dad forever. We will miss you and remember you until we are together again. Bye-bye for now…
A special Thank You to Kelly and the extraordinary caregivers at White Pines #2 in Cottage Grove.
To honor Ma’s wishes there will be no memorial service.
