Roy Carlson

Roy Elmer Carlson, 82, of Saint Paul Park, died on Sunday, April 1, 2007, surrounded by his family at the Healtheast Woodwinds Campus in Woodbury following a lengthy illness.



A memorial gathering was held on Wednesday, April 4, 2007 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Kok Funeral Home in Saint Paul Park. Burial will take place at the Hope Cemetery in Eagle Bend, Minnesota.



Roy Elmer Carlson was born April 8, 1924 in Brainerd, Minnesota, the son of John A. and Carrie A. (Nelson) Carlson. He was raised and educated in the Brainerd area. During WWII he served in the United States Army. He was united in marriage to Inez J. Johnson on June 23, 1952 in Eagle Bend, Minnesota. The couple moved to Saint Paul Park where they raised their family. Roy worked as a butter maker and maintenance engineer at Goldberger Foods until his retirement in 1984. He enjoyed fishing and working with his hands fixing lawn mowers and snow blowers. He was a dedicated and loyal friend, always lending a hand or an ear to make life easier for those he knew.



Roy is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Inez of Saint Paul Park, three sons; Eric A. and his wife, Connie of Cottage Grove, Lance P. and his wife, Mary of Austin, Texas, Ross R. and his partner, Kari of Saint Paul Park, his daughter, Sonja I. and her husband, John Morgan of Saint Paul Park. He was preceded in death by four brothers; Carl, Art, Glenn and Lloyd.
