Rosendo Resendez

Rosendo Luis "Redd" Resendez, age 45 of Newport, died unexpectedly on May 6, 2014.

Funeral services for Redd will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, May 12, 2014 at Kok Funeral Home, 1201 Portland Ave., St. Paul Park with visitation from 9:30 until the time of service. Interment will be in the Newport Cemetery, Newport, Minnesota. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.

He was born November 16, 1968 in St. Paul to the parents Carlos Sr. and Maria (Caudillo) Resendez. Redd grew up in Newport and loved to be involved in sports, especially football during high school years. Throughout his years he became somewhat of a handyman with a variety of interests and also did some landscaping. Redd loved to stay active, so he played Frisbee golf, worked out on a regular basis and enjoyed both summer and winter fishing. Being the youngest of 9 children, he had a special place in his heart for his mom and loved spending time with her. Despite the ups and downs of the Pittsburgh Steelers, he remained a committed fan of "Steel Curtain." Music was always a part of his life and was found having his radio on constantly. Redd was a friend to many and valued each of his friendships.

Redd is survived by his children, Marcus Resendez and Angel Jaenke; mother, Maria (Resendez) Bath; sisters, Olivia (Jerome) Schoen, Linda (Rick) Mace, Elvira Resendez; brothers Raul, Carlos Jr., Bob (Tammy Domek) and Ramiro; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Carlos Sr.; brother, George Caudillo and nephew, Arthur Wadena.
