Rose Marie Ramey
Passed away on March 30, 2009 after a brief illness in St. Paul, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her husband Albert Ramey in 1990. She was born in Madison, Wisconsin on September 12, 1929, the only child to Karl and Marie (Risty) Ramey. She graduated from South Dakota State University in Brookings, South Dakota and went on to teach High School English in Verdi, Minnesota for a few years. She ended up returning to school for her Masters in Psychology. While working in a real estate office, she received her brokers’ license and soon started her own Rose Garden Real Estate office. She was a savvy business woman, the most forgiving and intelligent person ever, and the best pinochle player! She will be remembered for her love of nature, animals, and her beautiful rose gardens. She was her children’s biggest sports fan and if you ever needed her, she would drop everything to be by your side. She gave of herself until she could give no more, and for that, she will truly be missed. She is survived by her 5 children Bill Ramey of Flandreau, South Dakota, Jackie (Tom) Sharp of Post Falls, Idaho, Mick (Diane) Ramey of Cottage Grove, Minnesota, Cindy (Mike) Rosenbaum of Kennewick, Washington, Tim Ramey of Cottage Grove, Minnesota; and 8 grandchildren Matt, Steve, Melissa, Jenny, Alison, Madison, Cassidy, and TJ. At her request there will be a celebration of her life and a final pinochle game held in her honor at a later date in her favorite place on earth, Yellowstone National Park.
