Ronald "Ronnie" Ulrigg, age 48 of Cottage Grove, MN passed away peacefully on December 14, 2024 with family by his side after a long and vigorous fight with Colon Cancer.
Graveside Service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, January 17, 2025 at Fort Snelling National Cemetery (Assembly Area #3 - Arrive by 10:45 AM); 7601 34th Avenue S.; Minneapolis, MN with a luncheon to follow at the American Legion, 328 Broadway Ave.; St. Paul Park, MN.
Ronnie was born on October 16, 1976 in Bad Kreuznach, Germany. They later moved to Richland, Missouri where he grew up on the family farm. Ronnie enjoyed playing basketball, baseball with the American Legion, shooting his sister in the foot with a bb gun, and stabbing her in the eye with a dart (this was their dad’s fault). In 1996, while still in high school, Ronnie joined the Missouri National Guard as an MP. As time went on, he embraced his nurturing ways and transferred to Active Duty Army as a Medic with the 101st Airborne. He put up a good fight, but the Army won, and Ronnie became Air Assault qualified. In 2005, while stationed in Alaska, Ronnie met the love of his life, Becky. Both Ronnie and Becky deployed to Iraq from 2008 to 2009, and he deployed back to the same unearthly area from 2010 to 2011. He was a member of the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association (CVMA) since 2011 where he was better known as “Ogre,” and was a member of the American Legion Riders. Ronnie enjoyed riding with friends especially across the “Nope, Nope” Bridge. He will be remembered for his loyal spirit in life and generosity in death as an organ donor, and his love and dedication to his family.
Ronnie is survived by his wife Becky Hoffart; children James (Justin) Ulrigg, Nicholas Ulrigg, Aaliyah Hoffart and Jadin Ulrigg; siblings Anjie (Jamie) Sanborn, Silvia Comara, Niels (Renee) Kaas, Will Holden and Dennis Holden Jr.; nieces and nephews Taylor Elliott, Alexander Sanborn, Gabriel Sanborn, Seth Comara, Robert (Raylinn) Kaas, Christopher Kaas, Henry Kaas and Harrison Kaas, as well as many other aunts, uncles, cousins and family members. Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents Ronald and Mary Ulrigg and his grandmother May Fogle.
