Age 69 Of Cottage Grove, died Monday night at Woodwinds Hospital in Woodbury.
Ronald was born in Hull, Iowa the son of Albert & Olga (Groth) Schmidt. He was a longtime Cottage Grove Resident. On May 7, 1955 he married Mary Jane Boyd at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in St. Paul Park. He was the founder of RSI Insurance in Newport. He was an avid fan of his grandchildren?s sporting events. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed playing cards.
Beloved husband of Mary Jane (nee Boyd); loving father of Kevin (Barb) Schmidt of White Bear Lake, Bryan (Sheri) Schmidt of Newport, Terri Jannetto of Cottage Grove, Michelle (Mike) Boehmer of Eagan, Pat (Denise) of Cottage Grove; grandchildren Laura, Tom, Randy (Liz), Cory, Jill, Ryan, Joey, Dani, Melissa, Jamie, Chris, Jessica, Bradley; sisters and brothers Marilyn, Richard, Carol (Dallas), Darlene (Dean), Steven (Deb), Jim, Laurie (Delbert), Michael (Lori), Judy; many nieces & nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Preceded in death by parents Olga, Albert & Hilda; sister Londa.
