Ronald Menard

Ronald F. Menard 81 of Cottage Grove died peacefully Dec. 19, 2015 at the VA Hospital.
Ron was born September 12, 1934 in Somerset, Wisconsin to Raymond & Bernadette(Fredrickson)Menard. He grew up in the West 7th neighborhood, graduating from Monroe High School. He proudly served his country in the US Navy and the Merchant Marines. Ron married the love of his life Sheryl in 1960 and they made their home in Cottage Grove. He enjoyed woodworking, proudly winning 2 ribbons at the State Fair, bird & squirrel watching, and time on his computer.
He is survived by loving wife of 55 years Sheryl; children Lugene(Dan) Werner, Renee Kelly, Steven(Mary), Paul(Jan); 9 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; brother Tommy; sisters Marge, Fay, Mary Kay. Preceded in death by parents and brother Andre.
Memorial Mass 11am Wed. Dec. 30 at St. Rita's Catholic Church (8694 80 St. S. Cottage Grove) with a gathering starting at 10. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
