Rodney Gustafson

Rodney J. Gustafson, 58 of Cottage Grove, passed away unexpectedly on Dec. 3, 2016 in his home. Rodney was born on March 2, 1958 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Robert and Janet (Elton) Gustafson. He grew up in the Cottage Grove area, graduating from Park High School in 1976. After high school he enlisted in the Army and actively served our county for three years. Rodney worked for the United States Postal Service for 29+ years retiring in 2013. In his younger years he enjoyed playing tennis, skiing and fishing. Rodney was a member of the Cottage Grove VFW, and cherished spending time with his family.
He is survived by his loving son, Eric (Jessica); former wife, Beth Osborn; parents, Bob & Jan; grandchildren, Kaiden, Tahlia, Everett; brother, Rob; niece, Sandra; cousins, Curt (Nancy) Hutton, Debbie (Dale) Decker, Shari, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by uncles, Daniel, John Hutton; aunt Mary; cousin Ronald Hutton. Memorial service 11am, Friday, Dec. 16 at Kok Funeral Home (7676 80th St. S., Cottage Grove) with visitation starting at 10 am. Memorials preferred.
