Robert Radke

Robert Radke, age 78 of Hastings, passed away February 23, 2022 at home.

Memorial service will be 11 am, Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Cottage Grove United Church of Christ, 7008 Lamar Avenue S., Cottage Grove with visitation one hour prior.  Private interment at Cottage Grove Cemetery will take place at a later date.

Robert George Radke was born April 18, 1943, in Hastings, Minnesota to George and Verona Radke.  He grew up on the family farm and graduated from Hastings High School in 1961.  Robert pursued his love of agriculture by earning a degree from the University of Minnesota.  Robert was then drafted into the US Army and served in Korea.

Being on the farm was in his heart and soul and enjoyed being around machinery and all aspects of working the land.  In his early years he was an avid snowmobiler and someone who enjoyed socializing.  Robert was known as a kind and generous man who loved his cats and dogs.  He enjoyed helping people and had a way of putting others needs ahead of his own.  Robert was a longtime member of the United Church of Christ as well as the Cottage Grove Cemetery board where he served in a variety of positions.

He is preceded in death by his parents George and Verona.  He is survived by his brother Harlow (Ruth); niece Diane (Steve); nephew Steven (Theresa); niece ReNae; grandnieces Ashley, Kacie (Jack) and Veronica; great-grandnephews Emmett, Gunnar and great-grandniece Margo as well as several cousins.
