Richard "Dick" Scheuer

Richard D. Scheuer, age 76 of Cottage Grove, passed away June 10, 2018.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 am, Thursday, June 14, 2018 at the Church of St. Rita, 8694 – 80th Street S., Cottage Grove, MN with visitation starting at 9:30 until the service.  Burial to follow at the St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery, St. Paul Park.

Richard “Dick” Darwin Scheuer was born January 4, 1942 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Darwin and Evelyn (Mullarkey) Scheuer.  He grew up in St. Paul and graduated from Washington High School in 1960.  While attending a dance in 1962, Dick met the love of his life, Dorothy Yanish and they were married on October 2, 1965 in River Falls, Wisconsin.  Dick honorably served his country in the US Army and was discharged in 1967.  They moved to Cottage Grove in 1968 where they raised their two children.  Dick worked in the grocery industry for over 40 years until his retirement in 2006.  He was an enthusiastic Minnesota Twins fan and he loved going on various bike rides with Dorothy and taking the family on cross country road trips.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Dorothy; daughter Kathy (Mike) Kotzmacher and son Kevin Scheuer; grandchildren Ryan and Kyle; step-grandchildren Brett and Matthew.  He is preceded by his parents, Darwin and Evelyn.
