Richard A. Phillips, age 60, passed away on Friday August 22, 2008, at his sisters home in Mesa, Arizona.
Funeral service was held at 10:30 am Friday, August 29, 2008, at Kok Funeral Home 7676 80

St. Cottage Grove, Pastor Tim Nelson, officiated. Visitation was from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday and also one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Richard was born September13, 1947 in St. Paul, Minnesota, the son of Donald and Gerda (Fohrenkamm) Phillips. He graduated from Park High School in 1965. Richard entered the Air Force during Vietnam and served with distinction earning the Air Force Distinguished Flying Cross. After his period of service was complete, he came home and became a barber and practiced in St. Paul at the Squire and First Bank buildings, eventually purchasing the business, and retiring in 1989. He then moved to Miami, Florida and co-owned the Joans Galley Restaurant and Lounge. He returned to Minnesota and started Quality Hearing in Maplewood, selling the business in 2002. In 2004 he moved to Amery, Wisconsin where he enjoyed working on his home and antique cars.
Richard is survived byhis brothers John (Judy) of Lino Lakes, MN, Gary (Pat) of Key Largo, FL; sisters Darlene (Kenneth) Donahue of Mesa, AZ, Sandra Sceli of Mesa, AZ, Sharon Kelm of Cottage Grove, MN; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Darold.
