Richard Paul Pankonin, 52 of Oakdale, formerly of the Saint Paul Park area, died Monday evening, April 7, 2008 at his home in Oakdale.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 11, 2008 at the Kok Funeral Home, 1201 Portland Avenue, Saint Paul Park with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be in Newport Cemetery. www.kokfuneral.com
Richard Paul Pankonin was born September 30, 1955 in Saint Paul, the son of Richard Paul and Annie Agnes (Grzeskowiak) Pankonin. He moved to Texas for a short time with his family at a very early age and returned to the Newport, Saint Paul Park area, where he received his education.
As a youngster he liked to tinker and made numerous tall bicycles. In 1971 he moved to Oakdale. He had worked as
a self-employed sheet rocker in the construction business.
Richard is survived by his mother, Annie, daughters; Shannon Pankonin both of Oakdale, Ann Marie (Sam) Bertrams of Cimmeron, Minnesota, grandsons; Luckus, Josha & Jason, his sisters; Linda (Don) Weidendorf of Hinckley, Annie (Bill) Lengsfeld of Inver Grove Heights, Judy (Larry Anderson) Cameron of Roseville, his brothers; Carl (Nancy) & Tim Pankonin all of Oakdale and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard & sister, Shelly Thies.
