Randall "Randy" Kent, age 68 of Cottage Grove, died early Wednesday morning May 15, 2013 at United Hospital in St. Paul.
Randall Adolph Kent was born July 8, 1944 in Almena, Wisconsin the son of Adolph & Elsie (Ernst) Kent. He was raised in Barron, Wisconsin and graduated from Barron High School in 1962. Randy attended UW-River Falls. On September 17, 1966 he was united in marriage with Mary Kay Narey in Waterloo, Iowa. Randy served in the United States Army stateside during the Vietnam War. He worked at 3M for 38 years. Randy coached hockey and soccer. He was a longtime board member of Cottage Grove Hockey Association where he seved many year as their treasurer. He loved the outdoors, gardening and doing yardwork.
Randy is the beloved husband of Mary Kay; loving father of Colleen (Dennis) Gutwein, John, Elizabeth, Michael; grandfather of Nicholas, William, Joseph, John; son of Elsie; brother of Beverly (Roger) Johnson, Shirley (Dan) Gerland, Vernon (Angie).
He was preceded in death by his father Adolph.
Visitation 4-8 PM Sunday at KOK FUNERAL HOME, 7676 80TH St. S. Cottage Grove and 9:30-10:30 Mon. at church. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 AM Monday at ST. THOMAS AQUINAS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 920 Holley, St. Paul Park. Interment Ft. Snelling. Memorials to American Heart Assoc.
