Ralph Gornick

Ralph A. Gornick 77, of Cottage Grove died peacefully on Aug. 28. Survived by loving wife of 53 years, Janet; children Carolyn Larson, Jason (Susana); grandsons, Kierron McGruder and Jaren; siblings, Marge (Gene) Osland, Barbara Zemaitis, Monica (Jim) Johnston, Tom (Denise); sister -in-law, Susan Gornick; many other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by parents, Rafael & Margaret; brothers, John and Jim.

Ralph was born on July 16, 1940 to Rafael & Margaret (Perusek) Gornick in Eveleth, Minnesota. He grew up in Tower, MN until he was 17 and his family moved to W. St. Paul, and graduated from Sibley High School in 1958. He met Janet Fetting and they were united in marriage in July 18, 1964 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in W. St. Paul. Janet and Ralph raised their family in Cottage Grove and recently moved to Woodbury. In his younger years Ralph enjoyed fishing and hunting. Ralph dedicated many years being a foster parent. He will be greatly missed.

Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM, Friday, Sept. 1 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church (920 Holley Ave. St. Paul Park) with visitation starting at 9 AM. Interment St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery. Memorials preferred to the family. A Special thank you to Marge & Gene and Allina Hospice for their loving care.
