Polly Rhode, age 60 of Cottage Grove passed away peacefully with her family by her side on March 2, 2024.
Memorial Service will be 2 PM on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at All Saints Lutheran Church, 8100 Belden Blvd.; Cottage Grove, MN with a visitation from 1-2 PM. A pie luncheon will be shared by all following the service.
Polly was born on July 13, 1963 to Billy and Karen (Pelzer) Carmichael in Red Oak, Iowa. She grew up in Iowa, graduating from Central Lyon High School in 1982 and later graduating from Morningside College as well with a Bachelor of Arts in Music. She spent many years working and enjoying what she did at 'The Woods' gift stores.
Polly had a huge heart for animals. She donated much of her time to local humane societies with a passion for rescue animals. She had a beautiful voice which brought her to participating in church choirs most recently at All Saints Lutheran Church. Polly was well known for her cooking and baking but especially pies of any kind, blessing many of those around her regularly with sweet treats.
Polly will be remembered for making everyone she came into contact with feel special with her welcoming spirit, putting others before herself and her infectious laugh. She will be deeply missed and forever loved by her family and so many friends.
Polly is survived by her husband, Steve; her beloved boys, Jacob Holton, Cameron Rhode, Gavin (Shelby) Rhode; grandchildren, Chloe & Stella Rhode; Mom, Karen Carmichael and sister Holly (Randy) Hedge. She is preceded in death by her Dad, Billy Carmichael; granddaughter, Ava Rhode and many fur babies.
Memorials can be directed to a local humane society of your choosing in memory of Polly.
