Phillip Johnson

Phillip M. Johnson died peacefully on July 16, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. He was born to George & Ruth(Nelson) Johnson on August 7, 1924 in Regina Saskatchewan and spent most of his life in St. Paul. Phill worked for Burlington Northern as a Railroad clerk. He loved to spend time sailing on Bald Eagle Lake in White Bear Lake with his son, and enjoyed a good game of chess. Phill is a proud retired US Marine Corps Veteran.
He is survived by his loving wife Ione; children James (Jan), Kathy (Mark) Calvin, Scott (Judi); numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother Richard (Rose), sister Dolores Pepin; many other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by parents George & Ruth, son Thomas, first wife Mary and two brothers.
Memorial service 3pm Wednesday, July 22 at Kok Funeral Home (7676 80th St. S., Cottage Grove) with a memorial visitation starting at 1:30. Please join the family for a luncheon following the service.Interment Thursday, July 23 at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, 12:15 lane #2.
