Paul Urbano

Paul M. Urbano, Sr., age 77 of Cottage Grove, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Dec. 8, 2016.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial 11 am, Monday, Dec. 12 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church (920 Holley Ave. St. Paul Park) with visitation starting at 10am.

Paul was born April 29, 1939 to Paul & Lillian (Major) Urbano in North Adams, Massachusetts. After high school he enlisted in the Air Force and served our county. He married the love of his life Lucille Carol Suarez on October 15, 1960 at the Ft. Snelling Chapel. Paul lived in Cottage Grove for over 50 years and was instrumental in the development and growth of the Cottage Grove business community, including helping start the Chamber of Commerce. Paul was a devout Catholic, an avid Minnesota sports fan, enjoyed big band music and dancing.

He is survived by his children, Paul Jr. (Jody), Catherine (Roger) Shuttleworth, Douglass Moon, Deborah Palm; grandchildren, Kayla, Kamma (Ryan), Adam, Jason, Emma, Molly; sister Sandy Petite; nieces, nephews, and friends. Preceded in death by wife Lucille and son-in-law Doug Palm.
