Paul A. Field, age 86 of St. Paul Park, passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at his home while surrounded by his loving family.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 am, Thursday, July 28, 2016 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 920 Holley Avenue, St. Paul Park. Visitation will be Wednesday, 4-7 pm at Kok Funeral Home, 1201 Portland Avenue, St. Paul Park as well as one hour prior at the church. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Paul Allen Field was born February 16, 1930 in Ashley, PA, to Leroy and Jane (Rampson) Field. He grew up in Ashley where he was a Boy Scout enjoyed playing baseball and graduated from high school in 1949. Following high school, he entered active duty in the US Air Force where he served as a mechanic from September 1949 to February 1953. Paul attended Northrop Institute of Aircraft and Engine Mechanic School for two years in Los Angeles, CA before marrying the love of his life, Delphine Janisch on August 25, 1956 in Englewood, CA. He got his start in the airline industry with Douglas Aircraft in El Segundo and moved to St. Paul Park, MN in 1960 to work for Western Airlines and later Northwest Airlines. During his career, Paul worked in a variety of positions from mechanic all the way through to management, retiring from Northwest Airlines in 1995. Paul enjoyed snowmobiling, restoring and tinkering on old cars and was active as a Boy Scout Leader as his children grew up. Through the years, he especially enjoyed attending the athletic events of his kids and grandkids.
Paul is survived by his wife Delphine; son Bill; daughter Theresa (Ernie) Pines; grandchildren Alex (Morgan) Ringhand and Sam Pines. He is preceded in death by his son Aaron.
