Paul Bjorlin

Paul M. Bjorlin, age 88 of Cottage Grove, passed away September 19, 2015 at the Augustana Health Care Center in Hastings.

Funeral service will be 11:00 am Thursday, September 24, 2015 at St. John's Lutheran Church, 1975 St. John's Drive, Woodbury, MN with visitation one hour prior to the service. Graveside service and burial will be at 11:00 am on Friday, September 25, 2015 at the Vinger Cemetery near Donnelly, MN. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Lutheran Hour Ministries, Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, St. John's Lutheran Church or charity of your choice.

Paul was born on January 19, 1927, the son of Carl W. and Emma (Engel) Bjorlin in Eldorado Township, Stevens County, Minnesota. He was a 1944 graduate of Herman High School. On August 20, 1950 he married Doris M. (Marquardt).

He served in the US Air Force 1946-1949, serving 18 months in Greenland. He was a farmer for many years in rural Donnelly before moving to California to work with General Telephone, retiring after 24 years in 1988. Paul was active in various churches, most recently St. John's Lutheran of Woodbury. He loved to hunt, fish, golf, square dance, and sing.

Along with Doris, his loving wife of 65 years, Paul is survived by his son, Dana (Peg); two grandsons, Eric and Adam; his sisters Fern Haley Rasmussen and Carolyn Smith and his brother C. Clifford. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Calvin and Donald.
