Patrick S. Ellner, age 51, of Newport, Minnesota, died unexpectedly at his home on Oct. 22, 2016.
A service to celebrate Patrick's life will be held November 12 at 2 PM at Fred Astaire Dance Studio, 1975 Seneca Rd, Eagan, MN 55122.
Patrick was born on Nov. 2, 1964 in Aurora, IL and grew up in Funk, NE. He was a warm, funny, generous, loving person, and a talented professional ballroom dancer who touched thousands of lives during his career at Fred Astaire Dance Studios. He and his wife, Andrea, owned three studios and trained countless students and teachers who attribute their success to his influence. What they all remember most about Pat is his sense of humor and his big laugh.
He loved hunting, fishing, boating and his two cats. Patrick was an accomplished athlete at Axtell High School in NE, where he played football, basketball and went to State in track, and was well known by teachers and classmates to be mischievous! He was very involved in scouting at Funk Elementary School and later earned his AS degree from SCC Milford.
He is survived by his wife, Andrea, of 18 years; parents Delbert (Red) and Marilyn Ellner; and sister, Dr. Julie Ellner.
For those who are unable to attend Pat's memorial service, cards and flowers may be sent in care of Kok Funeral Home or memorials directed to the Animal Ark shelter (www.animalarkmn.org).
