Patricia Redding

Patricia Redding, age 85 of Finlayson, formerly of Cottage Grove, passed away May 21, 2018.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 am, Thursday, May 24, 2018 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 920 Holley Ave., St. Paul Park.  Visitation will be Wednesday, 4-8 pm at Kok Funeral Home, 7676 – 80th Street S., Cottage Grove and also one hour prior to the service at church.  Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery, Mendota Heights.  Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.

Patricia Margaret Redding was born October 30, 1932 in Sioux City, Iowa to Clarence and Rachael (Cauley) Curley.  When she was in her early years the family moved to St. Paul where her father took a job.  She graduated from Central High School in 1950 and then served as a secretary with the Millwright Union for a few years.  Pat met the love of her life, Orville Redding, and they were joined in marriage on November 27, 1954.  After Orville completed his service in the Navy they returned to Minnesota.  Pat enjoyed the next chapter of her life as a loving mother to her 5 children.  She had a sweet personality who loved to laugh and take care of those around her.  Pat worked at Ecolab for several years as a test kit coordinator, retiring in 1994.  The following year they purchased a home in Mesa, Arizona where they enjoyed the winter months.  They loved to travel together to a variety of places across the world including Africa, Thailand and Russia and many countries in Europe.  Pat enjoyed her regular trips to the casino with her “grocery group”.  Orville could always figure out how well she did by the quality of groceries she came home with.   She will be dearly missed by her family and all that knew her.

The family appreciated the compassionate care that they received from the staff with Health East Hospice and White Pine Assisted Living.

Pat is survived by her husband of 63 years Orville; children Connie (LeRoy) Flora, Mike (Liz), Mark (Sheri), Karen (James) Young, Diane (Brad) Schreifels; grandchildren Michael, Crissy, Lindsay, Jenny, Renee, Rachel, Jessica, Josh, Sarah, Eric; great-grandchildren Luca, Hunter, Ariah, Sienna, Harrison, Parker, Elliana, Amelia, Owen, Soren; sister Nancy Hodgson.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Rachael Curley, brothers Bob and Eugene; sisters Lois, Margie and Kathleen.
