Patricia Ann Granlund

Patricia Ann Taylor was born on October 5, 1934 to William Edward Taylor and Hilda Johanna Duden in Pomeroy, Iowa. She was the youngest of five children and is preceded in death by brothers and sisters-in-law William (Doris) Taylor, Joseph (Marie) Taylor, George (Ruth) Taylor and survived by sister and brother-in-law Betty (Eugene) Keonig. Pat went to Catholic school and graduated from Pomeroy High School in 1952. After graduation Pat moved to the Twin Cities and worked at the University of Minnesota. 

In the Summer of 1955, she went on a weekend getaway with girlfriend Ginny Bous and met the love of her life, John "Jack" Clayton Granlund and they married soon after meeting.

They settled in Cottage Grove, Minnesota where they bought their first house on Cherry Avenue and welcomed six children Julie Granlund (Craig Eder), Margaret (Roger) Jaques, Joan (Baird) Swan, Greta (Jay) Peterson, Jennifer (James) Conwell, and John (Megan) Granlund. 

Pat spent her working years at the South Washington County Schools in various secretarial positions around the district. An avid reader, Pat consumed any type of book but was especially fond of poetry. Her favorite hobby was her grandchildren. Over the years she was blessed with twelve grandchildren; Brenna (Mike) Cassem, Erik (Taryn) Rice, Rachel (Pat) Fermoyle, Kaley (Brad) Gadbois, Kathleen (Michael) Zontos, Joe (Kylie) Lewis, Jack (Sabrina) Conwell, Henry Conwell, Ava Granlund, Ingrid (Shane) Granlund, John Ryan Granlund and Evan Granlund. Her family continues to grow with ten great-grandchildren including Lee, Clara, Ella, Dani, Tanner, Andi, Otto, Caden, Leo, and Wesley. 

The family would like to thank Norris Square and Optage Hospice Nurse Beth and staff for helping all of us through the final days.

Memorial Service will be 11:00 AM with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM, Thursday, February 6, 2025, at Kok Funeral Home, 7676 80th St. S., Cottage Grove, Minnesota 55016 with a lunch immediately following the service. Final resting place will be at Cottage Grove Cemetery, Cottage Grove, Minnesota.
