Patricia Dohrn

Patricia Dohrn, age 74 of Cottage Grove, passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at Norris Square Assisted Living in Cottage Grove.

A memorial service will be 10:00 am Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, 1000 Portland Avenue, St. Paul Park. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4:00-7:00 pm at Kok Funeral Home, 1201 Portland Avenue, St. Paul Park and also for one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be in the Newport Cemetery, Newport.

Patricia Mary Dohrn was born April 10, 1940 in Lake City, Minnesota to William "Bill" and Almina (Schumann) Lichtblau. She grew up in Lake City and later graduated from Wabasha High School in 1958. Pat lived to St. Paul for a few years while receiving her training as a secretarial assistant. She was united in marriage to Rollie Dohrn on June 30, 1962 in Lake City where she was employed at the local high school. Over the next several years while they raised their family she operated a daycare out of her home and worked at church. They lived in St. Paul for a few years until 1970 when they made their home in St. Paul Park. Pat was employed for many years as a secretary at the 3M Corporation. Pat was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2012 and faced it with courage and strength.

Pat looked forward to socializing with her family and friends and enjoyed hosting parties. She liked to be "on the go" whether it was coffee on Tuesdays or making visits to local garage sales. She would make a variety of craft projects and even sold them at the Minnesota State Fair with her sister. Pat also enjoyed gathering a variety of collectibles at her home. Recently the family took trips to a variety of locations including Wisconsin Dells, the Black Hills and Australia.

Pat is survived by her husband Rollie Sr; son Rollie Jr.; daughter Kristi (John) Duncan; grandchildren, Mick, Liz, Ted, Nathan and Kayla; sister Millie (Jim) Auge; brother, Ralph (Carol) Lichtblau; brother-in-law, Raymond Volner and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents and sister Adelle Volner.
