Oliver Abrahamson

Oliver "Ollie" Abrahamson, age 66 of Newport died Thursday evening February 21, 2013 at his home.

Oliver Dean Abrahamson was born June 19, 1946 in Lake Park, Minnesota the son of Oliver and Idean (Berland) Abrahamson. He was raised in Newport and graduated from Park High School in 1964. On February 18, 1967 he was united in marriage with Sandra Fritze at Cottage Grove United Church of Christ. Ollie was a member of Sheet Metal 10. He enjoyed fishing, grilling and the outdoors. He created a beautiful yard and home. Ollie loved spending time with his family.

He is the beloved husband of Sandy for 46 years; loving father of Shelly (Scott) Munos; grandpa of Anthony, Rachel, Marissa; brother of Diane (Warren) Moore, Larry (Cheryl); and is also survived by his special goddaughter Brenda Herrmann; many nieces & nephews.

Ollie was preceded in death by his son Shawn.

Visitation 10 am -12 pm Tuesday with 12pm Funeral Service at COTTAGE GROVE UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST, 7008 Lamar Ave, Cottage Grove. Interment Cottage Grove Cemetery.
