Norman C. Monjeau, age 78, of South St. Paul, passed away October 27, 2019.
Memorial service will be 11 am, Friday, November 1, 2019 at Kok Funeral Home, 1201 Portland Avenue, St. Paul Park with visitation one hour prior.
Norman Charles Monjeau was born May 14, 1941 in St. Paul Park to Norman and Jeannette Monjeau. After graduating from Park High School in 1959, he entered active duty in the US Army and was stationed in Europe where he oversaw medical supplies. Upon his discharge, Norman returned to Minnesota where he completed his degree at St. Paul Technical College. He worked for Sperry/Unisys where he worked on military computers for 27 years and most recently was employed at Supermom’s Bakery in St. Paul Park.
Norman met the love of his life, Audrey Roth, and they were united in marriage on September 16, 1967. They built a home in St. Paul Park where they raised their four daughters. He enjoyed woodworking and carpentry, collecting trains and lighthouses and was an excellent drawer. He didn’t like to get rid of anything and was able to turn “junk” into “magic”. In his free time he liked to keep his mind sharp with cryptograms and word puzzles and he was an avid sports fan who enjoyed college sports and was often found rooting for the Detroit Tigers and Boston Bruins.
Norman is survived by his wife Audrey; daughters Nicole (David) Mathieu, Vidette (Joe Kobilka) Monjeau, Danielle (Philip) Christians and Genese (Joseph LeBlanc) Monjeau; 19 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; siblings Bill, Mel, Randy, Kathy, Jackie and Janice. He is preceded in death by his parents Norman and Jeannette; siblings Norma Jean, Geri, Marylynn and Pinky as well as nephew Butch.
