Nicholas "Nick" Opse

Age 29 of Cottage Grove

February 3, 1983 – June 19, 2012

Passed away after a courageous struggle with lymphoma. Nick is survived by his parents, Allen and Roxsanne; the love of his life, Dana Kaping; his miracle "little man", Cody Nicholas Opse; and numerous siblings.

Funeral service will be 1:00 pm Friday, June 22, at Light The Way Church, 7000 Jamaica Ave. S, Cottage Grove with visitation one hour prior. Private family interment at Newport Cemetery.

As you embark on a journey anew,
we all will reminisce and think of you-
until the day God calls us to join you.

A man with eyes so blue, a heart so true;
courage, strength, and valor possessed by few.
A man whose unselfishness shown through-n-through;
kind acts he performed for many of you.

As your parents, Allen and Roxsanne are so proud of you;
As your siblings, brothers and sisters, young and old, look up to you;
As your significant other, Dana says that the best guy ever is you-
wonderful men like you, there are only a few.
As your son, Cody feels an abundant amount of love from you -
(he continues to look just like you).
As human beings, we all realize that there aren't many others
as caring, loving, unselfish, hard-working, handsome, and wonderful as you.

Nick, may we find peace and comfort
as we reminisce about time well-spent with you.

Days spent fishing on a body of water with a blue hue,
nights spent around a bonfire where we sat next to you;
days spent going "mudding" (wondering if a tire or fuse blew);
nights spent snowmobiling with the crew;
days spent in a shop or garage working on cars with you;
days leading into nights when we never left your side;
instead, we continued having fun and hanging out with you.

All these days and nights spent admiring and loving you;
Oh Nick, how we all really miss and love you.
We are grateful for and will continue to reminisce on our time spent with you.
We will continue to love and remember you.
