Mason Maki

Mason R. Maki, age 22 of Cottage Grove, passed away unexpectedly on June 24, 2016.

Funeral service will be 11:00 am Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at The Church of St. Rita, 8694 80th Street S., Cottage Grove. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 28, 2016 from 5-8 pm at Kok Funeral Home, 1201 Portland Ave., St. Paul Park as well as one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be in the Newport Cemetery. Memorials are preferred.

Mason Richard Maki was born March 11, 1994 in Duluth, Minnesota to Rick and Denise (Reimer) Maki. The family moved to the Twin Cities area where Mason grew up and received his diploma from Woodbury High School. Recently, Mason had been attending the program at Midwest Special Services where he made many friends. Mason was full of life and had a smile that would light up any room. He was known to have a good sense of humor and enjoyed sitting down on Sundays during football season with his family and his Papa Maki to watch his beloved Vikings. Mason's life touched everyone around him, and his family and friends will miss him dearly.

Mason is survived by his parents, Rick and Denise; sister Mara; grandparents Richard and Maria Maki and David Reimer as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his grandmothers, Jean Maki and Betty Reimer.
