MaryAnn “Rusty” Lindsay (Ronyak), age 94, of St. Paul Park, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born on September 8, 1930, in Holdingford, Minnesota. Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Herbert Lindsay; parents, Benedict and Mary Ronyak; siblings, Rita, Rosemary, Roman, Robert and Raymond. Survived by daughters, Lisa Lindsay and Susan Ronyak Lindsay; granddaughter, Laura Lindsay; great-grandchildren, Jozlynn, Kai, Laylynn and Myleaha; siblings, Virginia Krawczynski, Bernard Ronyak and Deborah Ronyak; many nieces and nephews.
MaryAnn lived a fruitful life, characterized by love, wisdom, kindness and the warmest generosity. She was a kind soul with a loving heart that was reflected in her daily interactions with others. Her love for her family was second to none, always going the extra mile to ensure that they were well taken care of. She embodied the epitome of motherhood. Her tireless patience, kindness and unwavering commitment to her family stood as a beacon to others. She thrived in her role as a great-grandmother, receiving immeasurable joy in helping raise her great-grandchildren. She loved flowers and gardening, but especially enjoyed spending time with her family
Throughout her life, MaryAnn shared valuable lessons with those she encountered along the way. Her philosophy of treating everyone as one would like to be treated, was grounded in kindness, fairness and respect, and she wished that it was shared with her family and friends.
MaryAnn’s life exemplified perseverance, love and commitment. She was a testament to hard work and living within one’s means. She never hesitated to roll up her sleeves and faced adversity head-on, espousing the belief that we must make the best of difficult situations.
Her amazing spirit will continue to live on through her loved ones, the life lessons that she shared, and the many hearts that she touched. MaryAnn “Rusty” Lindsay will always be remembered as a woman who loved deeply, lived wisely, and shared generously.
The family would like to thank all of the wonderful doctors and nurses at Allina Clinic (Cottage Grove), Minnesota Oncology and Woodwinds Hospital, for their compassionate care of MaryAnn.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Spring 2025 with inurnment at Fort Snelling Cemetery.
